Priya Oberoi

Priya conceptualised and started to build Goddess Gaia Ventures (GGV) in 2020 after a long held belief that women’s healthcare is greatly underserved and there remains huge, untapped market potential in this investment vertical. As a survivor of cancer and intrusive IVF treatment Priya knows first hand the importance of effective solutions: eating the right foods, balanced gut health, a positive and constructive mindset and tailoring ones prognosis to ones’ epigenetics and DNA. With this hypothesis as a backdrop, GGV was born and is now ideally positioned to take advantage of the post pandemic zeitgeist. Priya is an an avid angel investor and has demonstrated access and a winning formula when investing into promising start ups in GGV ‘s investment vertical.

Priya is also the founder of Oberoi Capital Partners, a regulated company she built from the ground up in 2010 using her own funds. She has built, managed and run the firm for over ten years, providing fund raising expertise, strategic business advice and multi-channel scale-up positioning across different asset classes and distinct investment strategies. From inception, Priya has multiplied the firms’ bandwidth giving the firm the ability to access the entire investor spectrum from sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, royal and family offices, Islamic investors and high net worth individuals. Priya has raised funds and led the strategic expansion into GCC markets for a number of different companies and her firm is now considered one of the leading placement agents in the region.

Priya is a finance, funds and derivatives lawyer by background and training, having worked in a number of jurisdictions (Moscow, Dubai, Paris and London), attaining of-counsel recognition in 2010 at Clifford Chance, a magic circle law firm. She is one of the pioneers of Islamic Derivatives, having drafted, negotiated and brought to market the founding template ISDA/IIFM documentation which now provides the foundation for a USD 1.2 trillion industry. Priya was a regular featured speaker at a number of global events and a regular spokesperson for the industry.

Priya holds a BA (Hons) and MA from Oxford University, attaining a 2.1 in Jurisprudence
